ENT one-up-manship

Talking of ENT consultants (which I was a couple of days ago) reminds me of an incident a few weeks ago when I went to pick our grandson Dan up from school. I was approached by a well-dressed man presumably¬†collecting his infant offspring. He pointed to the number plate on our 10-year-old Ford Focus and asked, “Is that a special number plate? Did you pay money for it?” To which I replied something like, “You must be joking. Of course not, it came with the car.” He then explained that he was an ENT specialist. This is what he saw:
